Maureen Shaw is a Scottish Illustrator from Badenoch, Inverness-Shire graduating BA Hons (Illustration) from Edinburgh College of Art in 1995, and MLitt (Highlands and Islands Culture) from the University of the Highlands and Islands in 2015. She is currently undertaking an AHRC-funded PhD, 'Economy, Innovation and Identity: the Textiles of Badenoch in the Eighteenth Century', based on the textile collection at the HIghland Folk Museum, in partnership with Highlife Highland.

 

A Gaelic speaker, her creative work has included art therapy with patients in palliative care, Artist in Residence for a Museum and working with vulnerable children in conjunction with Children 1st.  As well as undertaking private and commercial work, she has exhibited in Scotland, Ireland and Germany.
